Bulldogs make it five of six

— Brothers Pierre and Wesley Warren on Friday night accounted for five of Marbury’s six touchdowns as the Bulldogs won their fifth game in the last six outings, topping Verbena 41-6.

Three Pierre Warren-to-Wesley Warren touchdown connections put the Bulldogs (5-4, 4-3 region) up 21-0 with 8 minutes remaining in the second quarter, and the Red Devils (3-7, 2-5) never threatened.

Wesley ran one in from 3 yards out with 44 seconds to go in the half, and Pierre matched that touchdown runwith a 23-yard scamper three and one half minutes into the third quarter.

Verbena scored its only touchdown on a 67-yard pass from Brad Boswell to Blaine Thacker that was tipped before it found the receiver’s hands.

Marbury concluded the scoring with a 7-yard run by Keston Chatman.

The Warrens also combined for three interceptions – two for Pierre and one for Wesley. Brandon Locker had 15 tackles for the hosts.

Jason Ray led the Verbena defense with 15 tackles and one sack.
