Eight years ago, Linden won at Isabella, 48-36, only to earn a return trip to Chilton County the following Friday night to play Maplesville in the quarterfinals of the state Class 1A football playoffs. The Red Devils won at American Christian, 33-12, on the same night, marking the eighth year in a row Maplesville players had their Thanksgivings interrupted by football practice.
