Alcohol sales: Jim Maddox of the Collins Chapel community buys beer at the Jemison Exxon on Tuesday. The store, the first in Jemison to sell alcoholic beverages, sold its first beer Monday evening.

Faulkner bound: Chilton County soccer player Hunter Bennett (seated, third from left) announced Friday that he will play collegiately for Faulkner University.
